WELCOME
to Tony's Tuna Fishing!
|
Come experience the
thrill of fishing the elusive giant bluefin
tuna on board the Li’l Miss Maddy out of
North Lake, PEI,
the “Tuna Capital of the
World”.
Bradley and
Tony MacDonald have years of experience
in the tuna fishery and will do their
best to put a tuna on the line for
you!! Li’l Miss Maddy is a
newly built, 45 foot
fiberglass, Transport Canada
approved fishing vessel.
All fishing
equipment and bait is supplied and
washroom facilities are available on
board. Click here to meet the
crew!
A typical day starts with an
early morning departure from North Lake as
we sail out to catch the live bait
- Mackeral.
Whales, dolphins
and seals are often seen when we are catching
our bait, but we try to avoid these animals
when we are tuna fishing and venture out
further offshore into deeper water.
Two to four lines
are set at different depths, and then it is
time to wait for a
bluefin
|
 |
to bite
on. A bluefin will typically
fight for two to four hours and they have been know to fight
for as long as twenty four hours! It is well worth the wait
when it finally begins to give up and starts circling as
you pull it back to the boat. The day finishes before dusk, ideally with
you after landing a bluefin! Click
here to experience
it for yourself!

2009 & 2008 Summary and
Statistics
The 2009 tuna season was another successful one for the L’il
Miss Maddy and crew, but unfortunately the commercial season
was much shorter than in 2008. When the commercial season
closed, we had a very exciting catch and release
season! We were able to locate densely populated
areas which resulted in many of our customers
having multiple catch days. Some of the tuna we hooked up
to were well over 1000 pounds, and although they put up amazing
fights, they were released unharmed to fight another day!
Here are our commercial season stats for 2008 &
2009:
-
July
30/08: 628 pound fish landed after 3
hours
-
August

-
September 25/08: 716 pound fish
landed after 1.5 hours
-
